The 007 Club
There is no telling how many oil
deals were put together in the old 007 Club on Big Spring St across the way
from Luigi's Restaurant. Originally named The Egyptian Room [attested to by the
faded paint from the original pyramid logos], when the James Bond movies came
out it seemed natural that a place of dark mystery like this should be renamed
the "OO7". I have only been inside the 007 Club one time, and I can
tell you that the interior looks just about like what you would expect based on
the exterior. The 007 Club fell on hard times during the oil "bust"
of the 80's. The building was torn down in 2007.
